The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., MECCA Chapter and One Love Tennis, LLC is hosting a tennis tournament fundraising effort to support youth in the Atlanta community. The First Annual Tennithon will take place September 11 at Georgia Tech’s Bill Moore Tennis Center from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Each participant in the Tennithon will take part in one of six scheduled two-hour round robins. Players of all ALTA and USTA levels are eligible to play and participants must be 10 years or older. Prizes will be awarded to the participant who raises the most money per session, winning doubles teams, and participants who win the most total games. Food, great tennis, fun, and music will also be provided.
To enter participants must solicit donations from family members, friends, co-workers or others for as little as $1.00. A minimum of $100 sponsorship fee is required for participation in the event. All donations should be made payable to MECCA and are tax deductible. The proceeds will go towards the education mentoring program and AIDS awareness initiatives.
The Little Ladies of MECCA is a long term youth mentor program dedicated to nurturing and enhancing youth growth and development. The program provides a bridge of stability and motivation from elementary school and adolescence through high school and maturity for the participating youth.
