Baker Wins His First Pro Tournament

August 9, 2004 09:20 AM
Nashville, TN's Brian Baker, 19, won the USTA Challenger in Denver this past Sunday. This was his first tournament win as a professional and should bring his ranking up to 170-175. He has been coached by Ricardo Acuna, one of the USTA national coaches.

The finalist, KJ Hippensteel, will also move into the top 200 for the first time, possibly around 190.
