Love Match - Ken Toler

June 1, 2004 11:33 AM

My comments about Ernie will probably be very similar to others because we all feel the same about him. That is, we respect him as a person and as a tennis player. I first knew him as an opponent primarily, but in the last ten years we have been teammates many times, which I like much better. But, regardless of which side of the net I am on with Ernie, he is very competitive, always fair, and fun to play with.

Because of Pat’s illnesses, it hasn’t been easy for either one of them, but since they are both such strong people, they have persevered in great fashion. My wife, Sandra, and I have had wonderful times with them and are privileged to call them our close friends.

KEN TOLER
