Dunlop, a proud sponsor of the USTA Southern Section and the Official Ball and Racquet of the BullFrog/USTA Southern Section Junior Designated Circuit, has announced the return of John McEnroe to the Dunlop line of racquets.
McEnroe’s association with Dunlop began in 1981 when he was a young tennis star. Throughout his career McEnroe was Dunlop’s premier player, capturing more than 150 titles in singles and doubles competitions, and helping make the Dunlop Maxply Fort and Dunlop Max 200G legendary within the sport. His reign was one of the most prosperous eras for the brand.
Players of all levels of the game will benefit from McEnroe’s unrivalled expertise on the tennis courts as, under the terms of the agreement, McEnroe will play a pivotal and driving role in the development of Dunlop’s portfolio of tennis products.
“Dunlop has been synonymous with tennis since before I started playing the game,” said McEnroe. “I played my best tennis with their rackets, and am delighted to be associated with them again. I hope that my insight into product design and testing will help provide players at all levels with the best tennis equipment money can buy.”
Dunlop has also announced the re-signing of up and coming tennis star Mardy Fish. The 21 year old who now resides in Tampa, Florida is hot news on the tour, and is currently ranked 22nd in the world.
Since turning professional in 2000, Fish has played with a Dunlop racket. Under the terms of the renewed agreement, he will play the 300G, utilizing Dunlop’s perfect frame for the advanced player looking for more power.
Fish is one of the most promising young players on the ATP tour, and has moved up 80 ranking points so far this year. His signing with Dunlop embraces the company’s tagline and philosophy of “Made of The Right Stuff.”
