American Duo Takes Doubles Title at USTA/Fifth-Third Bank $50k Challenger

The Fifth-Third Bank Tennis Championship is a combined men's and women's event and will be played at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Stadium at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Prize money for both the men's and women's draws will be $50,000, with each singles winner pocketing $7,200 and each doubles championship team taking home $3,100.

Play wrapped up on Sunday, with Japan's Miho Saeki winning the singles title over the Republic of Georgia's Salome Devidze in a three set thriller 6-4, 2-6, 7-5. Only two Americans made it to the quarterfinals, and none were able to made it through.

Americans fared much better in the doubles, however, as Janet Lee and Jessica Lehnhoff captured the title with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over the 4th seeded Australian team of Bryanne Stewart and Christina Wheeleer.

USTA Southern Section players competing in the event were top-seeded Atlantan Lindsay Lee-Waters, Dublin, GA's Tanner Cochran, who was beaten in the first round by second-seeded Seda Noorlander, and Raliegh, NC's Carly Gullickson, who fell to Taipei's Janet Lee 6-4, 7-6 (5) in the first round.
