The Stars of Women's Tennis Arrive in Charleston, SC

The 2003 Family Circle Cup, owned and operated by Family Circle Magazine, is held April 5-13 at the Family Circle Tennis Center in Charleston, South Carolina. As one of the longest running women's professional tennis events in the United States, the 2003 event marks its 30th anniversary.

This year's event has an amazing draw and has attracted some of the best players on the women's tour. Already committed to play are 2002 Champion Iva Majoli and finalist Patty Schnyder. They will be joined by Serena Williams, Chanda Rubin, Lindsay Davenport, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Monica Seles, Anna Kournikova, and Elena Dementieva, among others. In addition, legend Martina Navratilova will return to the Family Circle Cup to compete in the doubles draw with Australian Alicia Molik. One of the greatest players in the history of professional tennis, Navratilova first played the Family Circle Cup in 1975 and, over the years, established numerous tournament records that still stand today.

Promoting the Importance of Sports to Charleston Youth
This year's event is working with local sports teams in an effort to show that physical fitness should be an important part of any child's life. They are joining forces to host an interactive "KidZone" to entertain children of all ages throughout the tournament

Exciting Family Circle Cup Travel Packages
The Family Circle Cup, scheduled for April 5-13 in Charleston, SC has partnered with a number of top Charleston hotels to offer unique travel packages for fans wanting to catch some of the biggest stars in women's tennis. There are three travel packages available that offer a number of special amenities depending on the package selected.

Each travel package is available Thursday, April 10th - Sunday, April 13th and includes three basic components: Two Champions ticket packages, which provides tickets for four sessions from quarterfinals on Friday, April 11th through the championship day on Sunday, April 13th, hotel accommodations for two and ground transportation to and from the hotel and tournament site. The Family Circle Cup staff can also customize packages to fit anyone’s needs.
