$500,000 in Promotional Funding Available from the TIA/USTA

January 6, 2003 09:53 AM

Back for a second year, the TIA/USTA's Growing Tennis 50/50 adult co-op program has made $500,000 dollars available to pros, clubs, and tennis facilities who wish to attract new adult players to the game. The funds are to be used to offer, advertise and promote entry level programs for adults. Co-op advertising/promotional funds between $500 and $5,000 are available for a 50/50 match at each participating facility.

The TIA will oversee the program in cooperation with the USTA, and will assist with the creative aspect and placement of advertising for the program. Each facility will be responsible for the first 50% of the total promotional spending, with the TIA/USTA matching that amount, up to $5,000. The marketing plan and budget will be determined and agreed upon in advance of any dollars being spent.

The funding is available for the promotion of programs for adult entry level players, though recipients have the flexibility to develop their own programs and use any name they choose. Newspaper ads will include a USA Tennis logo. Should the recipient choose to promote their program as a USA Team Tennis program, they will be eligible to receive USA Team Tennis incentives.
