Debbie Swindoll
Oxford, MS

As the first female full scholarship tennis athlete at Mississippi State University, Debbie Swindoll began a quarter-century passion for tennis as an accomplished player, tennis professional, and tennis volunteer. League tennis has captured the majority of her time and talents. She has served as Mississippi’s State Chief Verifier, Southern’s Chief Verifier, a National Verifier and a National NTRP Advisory Board Member. She has also served on the Southern Adult League Committee, Mississippi Tennis Association Board of Directors, sat as chairman of the Southern NTRP Subcommittee, President of the Mississippi Chapter of USPTA, and member of the Southern Tennis Professionals Relations Committee.

Her wisdom and insight has helped at all levels in developing USA League Tennis – the world’s largest recreational tennis league. The countless hours she has spent as a tennis volunteer with the USTA Southern Section have provided a significant measure of achievement that serves as an exceptional example to others. She is respected and adored by all the volunteers and staff who share her passion and devotion for adult league tennis.

“Debbie Swindoll is an extraordinary example of the enduring commitment that has been given to league tennis in the past twenty years,” expressed Helen Jeter, Southern’s Adult League Committee Chairman. “She has been at the forefront of our mission to improve adult league programs and to increase participation in them. Shining stars like Debbie Swindoll have been instrumental in creating a nationwide program with over 400,000 participants.”
