USA League Tennis by Lincoln Heats Up Upcoming Summer Months

May 31, 2002 02:24 PM

By Marc Kaplan

Tennis players throughout the country have been competing in their local USA League Tennis leagues these past few months hoping for the chance to advance to their State and perhaps even Sectional Championship. While some state championships have already taken place, this summer promises to be an exciting one filled with incredible USA League Tennis action.

The top local teams in each of the nine states of the Southern Section advance to their respective USA League Tennis State Championship and compete for a spot in the Sectional Championships. Some of these state championships started play in May but most do not conclude until June and the early part of July. For complete USA League Tennis State Championship results please visit the appropriate state website.

The very best teams from the state championships then advance to the USA League Tennis Southern Section Championships in Louisville, KY. The first half of competition for Adult 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and Senior 4.0 and 4.5 players runs from July 20-23, 2002. The second half of play runs from July 25-28, 2002 and features Adult 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and Senior 3.0 and 3.5 players.

Read up on all the teams and players competing and catch all the action as it happens by visiting www.southernleaguetennis.com. Scores and standings will be updated in real time!

USA League Tennis continues to be the world’s largest recreational tennis league for adults and seniors providing organized, structured team matches for all skill levels (NTRP levels 2.5 - 5.0). Approximately 407,000 players compete nationwide, with over 114,00 adult and senior players in the Southern Section alone. The program is open to men and women aged 19 and older and features a local, state and Southern Sectional championship and culminates in a national championship at each skill level.

USA League Tennis is presented nationally by Lincoln.
