Zonals
 

Zonals is a competition between teams of elite Southern juniors who represent USTA Southern against other USTA Sections.
 

2017 Tournament Registration Information
 

All registration for USTA Southern Zonals will be online. Below, you will find the ID# for the Southern Application Site as well as a link to the actual tournament home page.

To be eligible to represent Southern, you will go to the Southern Application Site ID# of your age division and follow the entry procedure. To gain more information on the actual tournament site, hotels, directions etc., please click on the Tournament Homepage link.

In 2017, Zonals will be played July 27-31.

There have also been questions about the endorsement requirements for Zonals. They are as follows:

- 16 Zonals: Any player who has played in either the Southern Winter Level 1 or the Southern Closed 16s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 36 Boys and top 36 Girls who apply will gain entry.

- 14 Zonals: Any player who has played in either the Southern Winter Level 1 or the Southern Closed 14s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 36 Boys and top 36 Girls who apply will gain entry.

- 12 Zonals: Any player who has played in either the Southern Winter Level 1 or the Southern Closed 12s and whose Southern standing is within the endorsed group. Top 36 Boys and top 36 Girls who apply will gain entry.

USTA Southern's E team was the champion. The tourmament was contested at the Cary (N.C.) Tennis Park.
 
The team consisted of Andrew Broadstreet, Michael Chou, Grant Durham, Xavier Ecarma, Avery Durham, Witt Grana, Alexa Griffith, Sidhant Hotchandani, Willa Rogers, Sophia Strugnell, Lauren Waddles and Melody Zhang.
 
The team was coached by Rex Ecarma.

Cornelius Jordan's USTA Southern team B won the Zonal competition.
 
Players were Kaya Arinc, Madison Dillon, Kate Gray, Jefferson Hobbs, Jillian Hobbs, Junmoke James, Phillip Jordan, Patrick Lazo, Anna Letto, Henry Lieberman, Thea Rice and Jerry Wang.
 
Matches were played at Wake Forest University July 7-11.
