The Southern Junior Cup, formerly the Junior Davis/Fed Cup, was created to give juniors the opportunity to experience the thrill and camaraderie of tennis as a team sport.

Hosted at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, TN, and supported by title sponsor Bullfrog Waterproof Sunblock, top players from each state in the Southern Section are invited to participate in this highly acclaimed event. The Southern Junior Cup for the BG (18-14) division will be held September 21-23, 2012 and the Southern Team Championships BG (12) will be held the weekend of September 14-16, 2012.

The Champions Club is located at 3520 Lupton Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
Tournament Format
All players play singles and doubles in each team match that has both events. Double line-ups are to be determined by the coach. Coaches may provide coaching at the changeovers from outside of the court. Only the official team coaches may coach. Spectators should remain away from the fences during the matches. Singles matches will be 2 sets with a match tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd set. In the event of inclement weather, singles matches may be shortened. Doubles matches will be 8 game pro-sets (6 game for the 12s) with a set tiebreaker at 8 games all. This event is a Level 1 Southern event. All matches count 1 point towards the team match. The team that wins the most matches wins the team match. Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be given in each division. All players are expected to maintain good sportsmanship at all times. Coaches may issue code violations to their own teams. This is a team event. Your should support your teammates after you finish playing. Always check with your coach before leaving the tournament site.
Thursday
On Thursday, there will be an Orientation Meeting at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, at 8:00 PM.
Friday
On Friday, warm-up will begin at the sites at 6:30 AM, play begins at 8:00 AM. We will take TEAM PICTURES @ 7:45 AM. Lunch will be served at the sites for players and parents. Play ends at 6:00 PM and a Pizza Party will be at the Champions Club at 7:00 PM.
Saturday
On Saturday, warm up at the sites begins at 7:00 AM, play begins at 8:00 AM. Lunch will be served at the sites for players and parents. Play will end at 5:00 PM and the Banquet will take place at 6:30 PM.
Sunday
On Sunday, warm-up will begin at the sites at 7:30 AM, play begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 11:00 AM. Lunch will immediately follow the end of play at the Champions Club for players and parents. At 11:30 AM Closing Ceremonies will begin and players should expect to depart for home no later than 1:00 PM, if at all possible.
Ice and Water
Ice and water will be provided at the site. Players should bring their own thermos or cups for ice and water.
Tennis Balls
Dunlop Balls will be used.
