Come work with the USTA Southern. USTA Southern is the largest section in the USTA (the governing body of Tennis in the United States) both geographically and in terms of membership; with about one-quarter of the total USTA Membership and over one-third of all USTA Recreational League Players. The Southern Section membership is continuing to grow, as we now have over 170,000 members in our nine state section of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
The USTA Southern Section office, located approximately 20 miles north of Atlanta in Norcross, Ga., has openings in 2010 during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.
Marketing Internship
(up to 35 hours/week)
Note: We are actively soliciting resumes for our Fall, Spring and Summer Internship slots.
The internship will revolve primarily around the USTA Southern Section Marketing Department with an emphasis on program marketing, promotions, communications, and public relations. This internship will provide experience in marketing, strategic and tactical planning, communication, promotions, and computer skills (including but not limited to web/graphic design and content management, word processing and database management). Primary responsibilities include:

Assist with Corporate Marketing Research.

Assist with USTA Promotional Campaigns and Events.

Assist with the Production and Distribution of Press Releases.

Organize and Update Media and Sponsorship Databases.

Write for and edit the Sectional Highlights newsletter for the USTA Southern Section.

Assist with the USTA Southern Section Adult and Senior Sectional Championships website.

Attend USTA Southern Section Events (schedule permitting).

Update the USTA Southern Section website.

Assist with Sales Initiatives.

Other responsibilities assigned by the Director of Marketing.
Candidates must be Current Students looking for Curriculum Related Internships.
Candidate should have strong writing and communication skills and should be well organized. Word processing skills are a must and website design experience would be useful but is not required.
