n $160.00 per team entry fee
n Make check payable to Southern Tennis Association.
Entry fee will be forfeited if team withdraws after March 1st, 2005.

Format/Rules: Each of the nine states will send one team in each level.  A wildcard team is selected in each level to complete a 10-team draw with two groups of five. More than one wild card may be used to complete draw of 10 teams where possible.  Each group plays a round robin with group winners advancing to the finals.

Players must have proof of current USTA membership if membership expiration date on roster is prior to April 30, 2005.

Each team match consists of three doubles matches.  The format of play will be best of two sets with regular scoring and a set tiebreak at 6-all in each set.  In the event of split sets, a match tiebreak (first to ten points with a margin of two) will be played in lieu of a third set
with no breaks and no coaching. Players change sides every six points in a match tiebreak.
The format may be changed due to inclement weather.  In the event of a tie in the round robin (two or more teams with the same team record) the group winner will be decided by:
1.  Most individual matches won.
2.  Fewest sets lost.
3.  Fewest games lost.
4.  Head to Head winner
5.  Coin Toss.

Note: Should inclement weather or other circumstances prevent the completion of tournament play at the Sectional Championships, and the Tournament Committee has not cancelled the event, these tiebreak procedures may be used to declare a winner in each group and a champion and finalist in each level.

Schedule:  Play will begin on Friday, April 1st at 8:30 am. Schedule will be posted on the event’s
website: www.southernsuperseniors.com by Friday, March 15th.  Each division will be scheduled for three days of play.  Finals will be scheduled Sunday: due to size of event, some finals could be scheduled as late at 2:00 pm Sunday.  Players may play in both Super Seniors 60s and Super Seniors 70s; however, there will be no accommodation to schedules.

A not-for-profit organization, the USTA is divided into 17 sections, of which the USTA Southern Section is the largest. The 165,000 USTA members living in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee make up the USTA Southern Section, which accounts for more than 25% of the total USTA membership. A professional staff housed in Norcross, GA carries out the USTA Southern Section's daily operations, but policy is formed and much of the organization's work is executed via a Board and committee structure of over 200 volunteers. For more information about the types of programs and services offered by the USTA Southern Section go to their website at www.southerntennis.com.
