The men’s team from Roswell, Ga., representing the USTA Southern Section, captured the national title at the USTA League 7.0 Super Senior National Championships held at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
The Roswell team defeated a team from Salem, Ore., 2-1 in the Championship match. Earlier in the day, the Roswell team defeated a team from Palm Desert, Calif., 3-0 in the semifinals. They advanced this far by winning their round-robin flight contested Friday and Saturday.
The team is captained by Jim Meidl and features Jim Wahl, Bill Duty, Terence Furness, Ralph Fernandez, Mike Marsico, Joe Boland, Ken Slutzky and Pete Rapelye and plays at Roswell Park.
The top four teams in order of finish are: Southern, Pacific Northwest, Southern California and Northern California.

Hot Springs Village, Ark. goes all the way in 6.0 Men's Super Seniors
The men’s team from Hot Springs Village, Ark., representing the USTA Southern, captured the national title at the USTA League 6.0 Super Senior National Championships held at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.
The Hot Springs Village team defeated a team from Naples, Fla., 2-1 in the Championship match. They advanced this far by winning their round-robin flight contested Friday and Saturday.
The team is captained by Chuck Skarshaug and features Rich Lederfine, Dan Johnson, Allen Holmes, Don Baggett, Jim Bailey, Glenn Deckelman and Charles Willard and plays at the Coronado Tennis Center.
The top four teams in order of finish are: Southern, Florida, Hawaii and Pacific Northwest.

The 9.0 Senior Mixed Doubles team from Covington, La. won the USTA Senior Mixed Doubles National Invitational Championships, held April 8-10 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
Southern’s team took home the crown with a 2-1 win over Florida (Tampa - Harbour Island Racquet Club). Florida had to retire in two lines in the final.

The 8.0 Super Seniors Women's team from Charlotte, NC finished fourth at the USTA League 8.0 Super Senior National Championships held at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.
Results were: Championship: Southern California (Lake Forest, Calif.) def. Pacific Northwest (Portland, Ore.), 3-0. Third Place: Northern California (Fresno, Calif.) def. Southern (Charlotte, N.C.), 2-1.
